Supporting young unaccompanied asylum seekers

Services

  • Provide educational and structured recreational activities to enhance the quality of life and integration into the local community for young refugees and asylum seekers
  • Strive to raise awareness in the wider community to ensure a positive presentation of asylum seekers
  • Provide a weekly befriending service to address the needs of young unaccompanied asylum seekers and refugees in Hillingdon whose lives have been affected by political   violence and displacement
  • Povide an annual residential activity based experience for young people most in need of respite.          
  •  Provide recruitment, training and coordination for volunteer befrienders.
  •  Provide practical support of donations of food and clothing
  •  Provide a daily drop in to the office to further assist young people with; volunteer placements; making phone calls to solicitors, home office; CV and letter writing; budgeting; referrals; miscellaneous support.
  • Provide outreach services to hostels and supported accommodation.
  • Providing practical living skills; access to practical activities; residential courses, outdoor activities; informal and formal education;  computer and media training; drama; arts and crafts; creative reading and writing workshops

 All the activities provided are programmes designed to build confidence, provide safe opportunities for sharing and development of the young people and to enable their integration into British society. We achieve the above by means of a structured / planned and measured set of activities and workshops throughout the year.
